About the Book:
This book is a memorial to the author written by various people whom she has interacted. They share their experiences with Bessie. You learn a lot about this lady. The very fact that she has chosen to allow others to give their perceptions of her rather than she writing about herself should tell a reader a lot about the kind of person she is—humble, selfless, and, most assuredly, a strong believer in living the word of the Lord.
About the Author:
Bessie Helen Lambert Straham, now deceased, was a lady who did not preach the word; she lived the word. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, educator, leader, and woman of God. She was the first African-American principal of a high school in Flint, MI. She was a powerful speaker and sister to many. Her altruism continues to extend after her death with this book. All profit will go to her sorority’s scholarship fund.
